When you have other Ideas!

Do you think that day is possible?  When the family has eaten too much Butter Chicken?

I kinda think not, but you just never know.  So,  we’ve come up with some other ideas and would like to share them with you.

 

  1. Marinades for Grilling

Use the butter chicken curry powder as a base for marinades. Mix it with yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, and a touch of oil to create a flavourful marinade for chicken, lamb, or even tofu. Let it sit for a few hours before grilling to infuse the meat with a rich, aromatic flavour.

 

  1. Spiced Roasted Vegetables

Toss your favourite vegetables, such as cauliflower, potatoes, or carrots, with olive oil and a generous sprinkle of butter chicken curry powder. Roast them in the oven until tender and slightly caramelized for a delicious, spiced side dish that pairs well with any meal.

 

  1. Savoury Rice Dishes

Add depth to your rice dishes by stirring in butter chicken curry powder during cooking. Whether making a simple pilaf or a more complex biryani, the spices will enhance the flavours and add a vibrant colour to the dish.

 

  1. Flavoured Popcorn

For a unique snack, sprinkle butter chicken curry powder over freshly popped popcorn. Add a little melted butter or coconut oil to help the spices adhere. This creates a savory, aromatic treat perfect for movie nights or entertaining guests.

Mix butter chicken curry powder into yogurt, cream cheese, or hummus to create a zesty dip or spread. This can be served with bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables, offering a spicy, aromatic kick that will tantalize your taste buds.

 

  1. Salmon Tandoori Recipe – Salmon Tandoori Using Butter Chicken Powder Mix

Ingredients

  • Salmon Fillets: 4 pieces, skinless
  • Butter Chicken Curry Powder: 2 tablespoons
  • Yogurt: 1 cup (preferably plain Greek yogurt for a thicker consistency)
  • Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger: 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Salt: To taste
  • Olive Oil or Ghee: 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh Cilantro: For garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, Mudgeeraba Spices butter chicken curry powder, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt.
    • Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined, creating a smooth marinade.
  2. Marinate the Salmon
    • Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
    • Place the salmon fillets in the bowl with the marinade, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a deeper flavour infusion.
  3. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you have a broiler setting, you can also use it for a more authentic tandoori finish.
  4. Bake the Salmon
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil or ghee.
    • Arrange the marinated salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Drizzle a little olive oil or ghee over the top of each fillet to enhance the richness and help achieve a nice crust.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. If using a broiler, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a slightly charred finish.
  5. Garnish and Serve
    • Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
    • Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
    • Serve the tandoori salmon with basmati rice, naan, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
