Madras Meat Curry Masala Medium (240g)

$22

81 in stock

This is a South Indian Meat Curry with a medium heat level.

A robust curry blend is a flavourful combination of various spices that come together to create a bold and rich taste. Typically, a curry blend includes ingredients such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon and chilli powder, among others. The blend can be adjusted to suit personal preferences, but a well-balanced curry blend should have a warm, earthy aroma and a complex flavour profile that is both savoury and slightly sweet.

This 240g jar will cook with approximately 8kg of meat, vegetables or seafood – 40 servings.

Ingredients

Coriander Seed, Cumin Seed, Black Pepper, Chilli Powder, Turmeric, Black Mustard Seed, Cinnamon, Cloves, Fenugreek Seed, Green Cardamom Seed

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp butter/ghee (45 g)
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cloves garlic, finely chopped (1 tsp minced garlic)
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped (1 tsp minced ginger)
  • 3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Madras Meat Curry Masala
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) Lamb or Beef, diced
  • 2 cups of water or coconut cream
  • Salt to taste

Method:

Melt the butter and add the onion, garlic and ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft. Lower heat, add the Madras Meat Curry Masala, mix well, frying until aromatic. If the mixture is too dry, add a small amount of water to enable the spice to fry. Turn up the heat, add the beef and seal well. Add the coconut cream and salt.
Bring to the boil, then cook simmering until the meat is tender and the liquid has reduced.

Serve hot with rice and garnish with julienne ginger and fresh coriander.

For best results this curry can be used with any meat and potatoes or sweet potato, if desired.

This is my all time favourite curry and you’ve really nailed it. Thank you for your amazing flavours and excellent service.

  2. Ian Redpath (verified owner)

I bought a jar of this after some free tastings at Floriade, and since then I have ordered it online at least three times. Excellent mix!

  3. Brian Cook (verified owner)

Have tried several times and have decided it is a little too hot when adding chillies to it. The second time it was a bit too spicy but I think I put a little too much ginger and a little too much of the spice mix. I am positive that I wll get it right next time and it will be excellent

thanks for the feedback, Good luck with perfecting!

  4. Sonia (verified owner)

Apart from the amazing flavour the best part for me is they are salt free. Due to my No/low salt diet restrictions I can now enjoy a beautiful curry without the stress. I don’t add salt during the cooking and my whole family love it. The recipe is super easy as well. Game changer for my sodium allergy. Thanks guys
