Durban Express Curry Masala Medium (170g)
AUD $16
Durban Express Curry Masala is your shortcut to that bold, comforting Durban-style curry flavour—deeply aromatic, warming and packed with character. Built on an earthy coriander and cumin backbone with turmeric for golden colour, this blend is lifted with fennel and fenugreek for a rich, savoury depth, then finished with a clean cayenne warmth and peppery bite. The result is big flavour that blooms beautifully when fried in butter or ghee, creating a glossy, fragrant base that clings to meat, seafood or vegetables.
This 170g jar will cook with approximately 7-10kg of meat, vegetables or seafood

Coriander Seed, Cayenne, Turmeric, Pepper, Cumin Seed, Fenugreek Seed, Fennel Seed
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp butter/ghee (60 g)
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (2 tsp minced garlic)
- 2 tsp ginger, finely chopped (2 tsp minced ginger)
- 2 tbsp Durban Express Curry Masala
- 1 kg (2.2 lb) Beef, diced (or any Meat, Fish or Vegetables)
- 1 cup coconut cream
- Salt to taste
Method
Melt the butter and add the onion, garlic and ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft. Lower heat, add the Durban Express Curry Masala, mix well, frying until aromatic. If the mixture is too dry, add a small amount of water to enable the spice to fry. Turn up the heat, add the beef and seal well. Add the coconut cream and salt.
Bring to the boil, then cook simmering until the meat is tender and the liquid has reduced.
