A Smart Veggie Broth

Just how easy is it?
Using up your vegetable scraps to make broth, what a great idea that keeps extra money in your pocket.
  • Keep your vegetable scraps in a bag in the freezer and when you have enough, make a vegetable broth.
  • You will need about 400g bag of vegetable scraps, 1 onion, 3 garlic cloves and 2 litres water.
  • Brown the vegetables before adding to a saucepan, add the onion, garlic and water, bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Sieve into a jug or jars.
